PWA Hosts First Silent Auction

The Performance Warehouse Association (PWA) will be hosting a SEMA Young Executives Network (YEN) Silent Auction to benefit the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund at their Annual Conference being held September 24th – 26th @ The Point South Mountain Resort in Phoenix, AZ. The auction will take place Monday, September 24th during the conferences annual water park reception. The theme of the Silent auction will be sports memorabilia and will feature collectible items from every major Sports category including Racing and Motorsports, Football, Baseball, Golf, Hockey, Olympics, and more. The Memorabilia ranges from exotic rare items to autographs and signed equipment. Proceeds from the Auction will be donated to the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund by PWA on behalf of PWA and the Young Executives Network (YEN).
PWA’s Executive Director John Towle stated “I’m pleased to report that PWA will be supporting the SEMA YEN Committee. With the support of the conference participants, this program should raise significant funds for the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund”.
The SEMA Silent Auction that is managed by the YEN has raised more than $100,000 for the SEMA Scholarship Fund in the past three years. These funds are being raised to support scholarships for students seeking careers in the Automotive Aftermarket Industry and student loan forgiveness those working for SEMA Member companies.
SEMA also hosts a silent auction of Automobile related items yearly at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Individuals or businesses who would like to make a tax deductible donation or donate items that can be a part of the auctions can do so by clicking on the Download a Donation Form button located in the right hand column of this page.
Currently, SEMA’s Young Executive Network has more than 500 members networking in the industry and is the largest SEMA committee. If you are employed by a SEMA-member company and under the age of 39, then you can join the YEN for free.
This year, Bianca Hennings, Window Canvas, was appointed YEN Silent Auction Task Force Chairman. Hennings will assume the position when the current chairman, Dave Williams, Rampage Products, finishes his term with the YEN Select Committee in July. Also serving on the 2007 Silent Auction Task Force is Gregory Parker, P&E DIstributors, Inc.
